Program Description - Ethical guidelines for Mental Health professionals.

Learning Objectives:  Participants will be able to:

● Understand the importance of professional values and ethics in mental health settings.

● Identify the role and the impact of law in mental health settings.

● Recognize and distinguish between problematic and non problematic boundary issues in mental health settings.

● Describe ways mental health practitioners can prevent unethical or illegal behaviors in daily practice.

● Identify elements and conditions of informed consent.

● Identify a protocol for ethical decision-making.


About our presenter:

Mr. Martin is the owner and founder of Martin Counseling, PLLC. He leads a team of therapists providing counseling and mental health services for people struggling with behavioral, emotional or relational issues. He also supervises counselors holding a temporary license (interns) and practicum students. He holds a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and a Licensure in Psychology (equivalent to a Master's degree) from the University of Malaga (Spain). Mr. Martin is originally from Spain. He is fully bilingual (English/Spanish).

He is the Founder of  HoustonLPC.com, a free referral service for counseling and a social networking platform for mental health professionals in the Greater Houston area.
