The Houston Police Department Mental Health Division In Action.

Rebecca Skillern will present on the various components of the HPD’s Mental Health Division programs and the services provided in response to those living with or affected by mental illness.

Rebecca Skillern is a Senior Police Officer with the Houston Police Department (HPD) Mental Health Division and the Lead Instructor for Crisis Intervention Training at HPD. Prior to becoming a Police Officer, Rebecca obtained her License as a Professional Counselor (LPC), became a board approved Supervisor for LPCs in Texas, and has served in the mental health field for over 20 years. Rebecca obtained both a Bachelor's in Psychology and a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Houston - Clear Lake.
